A Portrait of Belle and her Mother From My Film "Within" 2017
One of the first pieces I created as inspiration for my film "Within". I scratched into a piece of wood until it resembled the decay of an old, abandoned home. It shows a fearful Belle staring at the artist with great unease, her mother looking towards the artist maintaining her statuesque demeanor, and another figure constructed through a series of slashes. The figure on the far right was not there from the beginning. It tried its own hand at painting a new picture by carving away the depiction of her father.
